Flying support for Ubuntu!
This summer, Knowledge To Action (KTA) CEO Greg Secker traded the Forex markets live from a helicopter flying 1,500 feet above London. Ubuntu just received word from KTA Foundation director Katherine Scott that this innovative project has raised over £150,000 so far for Ubuntu and Barnardo’s, their other charity of choice.

More than 500 KTA clients from the UK, South Africa, Australia, Singapore, New Zealand, Ireland, USA, Brazil, the Netherlands and Malaysia followed Greg’s trade calls from the air via a live feed between the helicopter, KTA offices and Flying Trader website (www.theflyingtrader.org/). Clients traded simultaneously and brokerage commissions sponsored by ETX Capital were donated. The trading floor was buzzing with activity: over 4,000 pips were generated. As the last flying mission for the summer 2011 drew to a close, I joined KTA staff and clients to watch excitedly as Greg landed the R44 to rounds of applause.
Flying Trader will return in spring 2012 when Greg will be taking to the skies once more to make money out of thin air for Ubuntu. This incredible initiative will help us launch our early childhood development programme aimed at enabling disadvantaged children under five to enter primary school with the same skills as their peers in London and New York. It’s so encouraging to witness the passion and commitment expressed by individuals on the trading floors of cities worldwide to support our students in PE.
