Our Programmes
Clinical Services
In order to meet the need for basic medical services in our community, Ubuntu Education Fund will open a Pediatric HIV Clinic in September 2010, as part of The Ubuntu Centre. We will also continue to provide support to local clinics to improve the health of the community at large.
Services include:
Clinical support for HIV-infected children and their HIV-infected family members
- Assistance to access HIV treatment and maintain treatment schedule
- CD4 and viral load testing
- Nutritional assessments and dietary planning
Other health-related services
- Growth monitoring for young children
- HIV counseling and testing at Ubuntu’s headquarters and in the community
- TB screening, HIV baseline testing, and diabetes screening for all newly-identified HIV-positive individuals
Capacity-building at a local clinic
- Referrals of HIV-infected pregnant women and children to Ubuntu for further support
- Organic vegetable garden
- Expert Ubuntu staff placed at the clinic to provide technical assistance and monitoring and evaluation support
All of our clients who received Clinical Services also receive holistic services from our other programmes.
