Our Programmes Empowerment Initiative

Ubuntu Education Fund has developed a comprehensive, peopled-centred response to address the unique needs of our community.

Over the past nine years, our empowerment initiative has expanded to include the following:

  • 19 computer centres and seven libraries accessed by 15,000 children weekly
  • Over 600 teachers trained in computer literacy, curriculum and library sciences
  • Tutoring for 100 at-risk youth each year in maths, science, English and accounting
  • Mentorship matches over 60 township learners annually with local leaders
  • Career guidance provides 3,000 township residents each year with career preparation
  • Educational support facilitates scholarships, internships, university loan administration and job-placement opportunities for graduating high school students
  • Career weeks at high schools for graduating seniors
